Charles Grant

Humanistic Integrative Counselling

Welcome

I wish to acknowledge that your taking the time to read this means you are looking for a different way to relate to your experience. This is significant.

We were not given an instruction manual as we were growing up, you have found your way so far. To find someone who can really listen and hear you is not a common experience and has a value difficult to express.

The difficulties you are experiencing are the reference, between the two of us we can find a new way to relate to them.

My job is to create a safe space for you to find yourself, to hear yourself – as the difficulties slowly unfold you will find your own way, create your own bespoke living wisdom.

This may take some time and will definitely take commitment and courage but we also need to remember humour along the way!

My approach is integrative; integrating the warmth and openness of the person-centred tradition together with the grounded practical aspects of the psychodynamic tradition. Key aspects are gentleness, kindness and bringing things back to the present moment.

We are human, we do our best, not anyone else’s best, our best.

Everything that you bring will be welcome, whatever the difficulties.  For example stress, trauma, feelings of exclusion, exploring identity.

I have experience working with attention related difficulties, obsessive compulsive disorder, addiction, sexuality, identity, emotional trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, loss and grieving.

My training has prepared me to work with those experiencing difficult family lives and relationships.

My pronouns are he/him.

I work with adult clients.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework.
